Comparison guide

Before you start: our disclosure

Evidwell makes supported housing software, so we are not neutral. We have tried to be fair: every competitor detail below comes from that supplier’s own public website in October 2026, and we say where something is not listed rather than guessing. Features and pricing change, so confirm anything important directly with each supplier.

Step one: know which service model you run

“Supported living software” covers very different services. Getting this wrong is the most common reason providers end up with a system that does not fit.

The six systems in more detail

1. Evidwell — best for supported and exempt accommodation

Evidwell is built for UK providers delivering housing-related support. It connects resident support (assessments, support plans, session notes, incidents, move-on) with property compliance and Housing Benefit reconciliation, and produces evidence packs for councils, commissioners and boards. A readiness view is organised around the National Supported Housing Standards.

Consider: it is not a personal care platform — if you need eMAR and visit rostering for CQC care, pair it with a care system. It is a newer product, so ask for a demo using your own workflows. Supported living software · Pricing

2. ECCO Solutions — established supported housing case management

ECCO offers client case files, risk assessment, support planning, incidents and safeguarding, visit scheduling, outcome reporting and audit logs, with packages for small teams and for organisations of thousands of users. Its website lists long-standing customers and G-Cloud supplier status.

Consider: Housing Benefit handling is not described on its homepage, and large-team pricing is per user.

3. In-Form — case management for homelessness charities

Run by Homeless Link and built on Salesforce, In-Form is used by hundreds of non-profits for case management, outcomes and impact reporting, with integrations for larger customers.

Consider: it is a charity CRM rather than a property or compliance system, and some integrations are Enterprise-only.

4. Carebeans (QCS) — supported living with personal care

Carebeans covers staff rotas and time and attendance, eMAR, a family portal, service user records, training management and an operations dashboard, with links to QCS compliance content. Pricing is per service user with a 30-day rolling contract.

Consider: it is care-focused; housing management, property compliance and Housing Benefit are not described.

5. Log my Care — accessible care platform with a free plan

Log my Care offers support plans, daily logs, risk assessments, incidents, positive behaviour support and offline recording, with rostering, eMAR and family app add-ons, and a free Starter plan.

Consider: housing, rent and Housing Benefit are not covered; key features sit in paid tiers.

6. Mentor Software — young people’s services

Mentor focuses on children’s homes, 16+ supported accommodation and 18+ services, with bespoke forms, messaging, permissions and multi-site oversight. It states ISO 27001 certification.

Consider: it is designed around young people’s and Ofsted settings rather than adult housing-related support.

Seven questions to settle before you buy

  1. Does it fit our service model — personal care, housing-related support or young people?
  2. Can it evidence support for exempt accommodation Housing Benefit reviews?
  3. Will it help us prepare for supported housing licensing and the National Supported Housing Standards?
  4. Does it track property certificates and alert us before they expire?
  5. Is pricing per user, per resident or per site — and what will it cost in three years?
  6. Can we export all our data, and what is the minimum contract?
  7. Will the supplier run our real scenarios live in the demo?

Questions

Supported living software FAQs.

Discuss your own workflow with the Evidwell team at info@evidwelltech.com.

What is the best supported living software in the UK?+

It depends on your service model. If you deliver CQC-registered personal care in supported living, care platforms with rostering and eMAR — such as Carebeans or Log my Care — are built for that. If you deliver housing-related support in supported or exempt accommodation, you need a system that also handles properties, compliance and Housing Benefit, such as Evidwell or ECCO.

Is there free supported living software?+

Some suppliers offer free entry points. Log my Care advertises a free Starter plan, and In-Form promotes a free way to get started. Check what is included, as rostering, eMAR or advanced reporting are often paid add-ons.

What software do supported housing providers use?+

UK supported housing providers commonly use case management systems such as ECCO, In-Form or Evidwell, sometimes alongside separate rent, compliance or care software. Many smaller providers still rely on spreadsheets and shared drives.

Do I need CQC-compliant software for supported living?+

Only if you deliver regulated personal care. Housing-related support in supported or exempt accommodation is not CQC-regulated, but it will be covered by the new supported housing licensing regime and National Supported Housing Standards in England.

Should I choose per-user or per-resident pricing?+

Per-user pricing can become expensive as you hire and can discourage giving every support worker a login. Per-resident or per-service-user pricing, used by Evidwell and Carebeans, scales with the size of your service instead.

What should I ask in a demo?+

Bring a real, anonymised scenario — a referral, a support review, a certificate renewal and a Housing Benefit discrepancy — and ask each supplier to complete it live, without slides.
